Executive Summary

This is where it all started. the first road Carbon Crusher did, back in its infancy when crushing roads where unheard of and the use of bio-binders in roads was just a theory.

Introduction

Roheimsvegen is used by forrest machines and trailers and is subjected to both heavy and rather frequent traffic. This put speciual demands on the road. It needs to hold a lot of weight and it needs to be durable over time.

The Challenge

This is the worlds first, to our knowledge fully reclaimed and carbon negative road in the world. It takes guts to go for and test a totally new technology.

The Solution

Full Depth Reclamation with Biobinder

By repurposing the existing material, there is no need for removal or addition of new materials. Following this, we apply our Biobinder, derived from waste products of the paper industry, to bind the new road surface.

Carbon Sequestration

In this project, Carbon Crusher's proprietary Biobinder played a pivotal role in sequestering carbon. The binder has been stabile for more than 17 years and has stored about 21 tonnes of CO2 safely in the road.
